Rock Climbing

Last Sunday morning, Jeremy and I left the house around 6:30 a.m. and headed up to Tahoe to meet up with our friend Chris and his friend Paul, who were going to let us photograph them climbing. Our friend Kat, an amazing writer, was there taking notes for an article. We started at the climbing gym where Chris works. I'm not even a climber, but this place was freakin' amazing! Jeremy used to do some climbing around the D.C. area, so he had a blast getting back in touch with it today!

After the gym, Chris took us to Trippy Rock. The view from the rock was pretty impressive! Definitely not too shabby of a place to spend a morning.

Jeremy went to the top of the rock, anchored in and then stepped off the edge and suspended himself in order to get photos of the climbers from above.

All in all it was a successful day, and I learned a lot about vantage points and the images rock climbers would be looking for. We have a plan to go out again on the 24th, this time to Shakespeare Rock, apparently a location that hasn't been climbed much recently, and which needs cleaning up.

  1. Wow, I love the photo of J taking a photo of Paul climbing!

Would love to try some time whether I had the guts to do that sort of stuff.
